March 26 2008 -A new range of greeting cards has been released by Santoro. Normally this wouldn’t create much of a stir, but this is different. All over the country, vegetables and small animals are losing their identity.
Santoro's new range of greeting cards has vegetables and small animals everywhere in uproar!
Colonel Broccoli spoke to us from his Norfolk home. “It’s been amazing! I don’t think broccoli has ever been so popular! Of course, once the person receiving the card has got their hands on the stickers we look completely different. Granted, with the eyebrows and monocle there is more than a passing resemblance to Great Uncle Bartholomew, but I object most strongly to the tiara!”
Indeed the fiasco continues across the country. Pauletta Pineapple has flown in especially from Brazil “Ay ay ay! It is madness! To ‘av the beautiful pineapple defaced with clown hats and large ears! I cannot believe it…at least there is a beautiful smile and stunning jewellery!”.
So, the madness continues across the country. The cards are available in 16 different designs, and come complete with 75 stickers to personalise everything from a pig to an egg. Retailing at £2.50, they’re selling out wherever they’re placed. A spokesman for Santoro, who wished to remain nameless for fear of retribution from the jam tart, said “We can only just keep up with demand! It’s crazy! Pigs with Stetsons, kittens with sunglasses, and tomatoes with hands, whatever next….potatoes with eyes!?!”.
On going to press, Santoro can confirm that the potatoes do indeed have eyes.
