WCPE “Preview!” Features “Madama Butterfly”
Interview with Opera Company of North Carolina Director Airs Sunday, May 25

WAKE FOREST, N.C. (May 21, 2008)—TheClassicalStation.org announces today that its weekly program “Preview!” will feature an interview with Maryanne Talese, stage director of The Opera Company of North Carolina. The interview can be heard during the station’s Sunday, May 25 program that airs from 6-9 p.m.

Talese will discuss the Opera Company’s upcoming performance of “Madama Butterfly” with “Preview!” host Deana Vassar. Performances will be May 30 and June 1 at Memorial Auditorium in Raleigh, N.C.

“‘Madama Butterfly’ is opera's ultimate tale of passion, sorrow and sacrifice,” says Vassar. “With this staging, the company concludes its journey through Italian opera history, celebrating a groundbreaking season and the growth of opera in this region.”

“Preview!” is a weekly feature that airs every Sunday evening from 6–9 p.m. ET and presents the latest in classical recordings and upcoming classical events. WCPE’s live broadcast of Great Classical Music, 24 Hours A Day can be accessed around the globe in several ways: on-line streaming in multiple formats, including IPv6; local cable television systems; and traditional radio broadcasting. A complete list of the ways WCPE is available with instructions for cable and satellite reception can be found at theclassicalstation.org/listen.shtml.
