For 2008 the award-winning Lincoln Navigator raises the standard by offering many desirable comfort and convenience options as standard equipment.
Engine power is provided by Lincoln Navigator's 5.4-liter, 3-valve V-8 engine, producing 300 horsepower and 365 pound-feet of torque. The engine is coupled to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The 6-speed transmission has smaller steps between gears than a typical 4-speed automatic and thus provides better shift quality and quicker acceleration. With a wide 6.02:1 gear ratio and two overdrive gears (fifth and sixth), the Lincoln Navigator's 6-speed offers up to a 7 percent increase in fuel economy on the highway over a typical 4-speed automatic.
The newly available Rearview Camera System adds even more appeal for full-size SUV owners to help reversing and parking manouveurs. The new standard features include:-
a power liftgate, heated and cooled seats, THX® II- Certified audio system, and power folding third row seat.
The rearview camera system, added to the Navigator's features for 2008, the rear-view image appears in the self-dimming rear view mirror once reverse gear is selected
The new long-wheelbase model the Navigator L has an additional 25 cubic feet of cargo space. 15 inches longer than the regular model and offers this extra cargo volume behind the third row of seats
The unique grille on the Navigator combines a powerful appearance with refinement. The Navigator has a unique elegance and an unrivaled presence on the road. The show of power starts with the bold chrome grille inspired by the Lincoln star. The theme continues into the high-intensity-discharge (HID) projector headlamps and the lower grille continues the theme housing the integrated fog lamps.
The Navigator's frame and independent suspension delivers superior ride and handling. With an acoustic windshield an thicker glass all contributing to the Navigator's "whisper quiet" interior. The Lincoln Navigator offers a confident ride and superb handling, outstanding comfort and craftsmanship, and class-leading capability. Navigator and Navigator L are both available in 4x2 and 4x4 versions.
A Limited Edition Monochrome Package is new for 2008 with a unique badge and body-colour exterior accents including lower grille, lower bodyside cladding, upper chrome grille and power-folding heated mirrors with puddle lamps. This package is available in four monochromatic exterior colours:- White Chocolate Tri-coat, Black Clearcoat, Vapor Silver Clearcoat Metallic and Stone Green Clearcoat Metallic. On the interior, the package includes unique black carpeting and floormats, Ebony black wood trim, Stone or Camel seats with black leather inserts and black piping with a Lincoln logo stitched into the headrests.
Three new exterior colors are available for 2008: White Suede Clearcoat Metallic, Vapor Silver Clearcoat Metallic and Stone Green Clearcoat Metallic.

AdvanceTrac® with RSC®, which utilizes two gyroscopic roll rate sensors to help the vehicle avoid rollover situations.
Dual-stage second-generation driver and front-passenger air bags that deploy based on crash severity, safety belt usage and occupant size.
Three-row Safety Canopy™ side curtain air bags designed to activate in rollovers and side impacts for increased head protection.
Seat-mounted side air bags for the first row and energy-absorbing knee bolsters and glove box for the front passenger.
Premium quality interior materials with genuine wood, leather, and satin nickel trim enhance the interior all help to make this SUV one of the most desirable vehicles of its type on the market.
