United States(prwindow)- June 18 2008 -David White, co-founder of The Capital Group, an independent financial consulting firm, received the Arthur O. Prosser Award for Leadership for exemplary service and dedication to Raleigh’s Tammy Lynn Center for Developmental Disabilities.

RALEIGH, N.C. (June 18, 2008) – David White, co-founder of The Capital Group, an independent financial consulting firm, has been awarded the Arthur O. Prosser III Outstanding Service Award from Raleigh’s Tammy Lynn Center for Developmental Disabilities. The leadership award is presented annually for exemplary service and dedication to the Center by the Chairman of Tammy Lynn Center, Inc.

“David has been on our board for two years and has truly been a champion for the Center. His leadership qualities are noticed by not only board members, but staff, families and supporters of the Center,” says Darren Dasburg, board chairman. “We are grateful for his friendship and commitment to our mission."

The award’s namesake honors the memory of Art Prosser, a member of the Center’s Board of Directors. The first award was presented in 1995. White has served the board in multiple ways including serving on the Development Committee, as Chair of the Finance Committee this year, and as Chair-Elect of Tammy Lynn Center, Inc for 2008-2009.

“While it is a tremendous honor to be recognized this way, I must say how humbled I am to witness the love, compassion and skill that the dedicated staff of TLC, Inc. shares with our clients, residents and their families. Just when I begin to think that humanity is going downhill, I watch with admiration and thanksgiving as these fine people answer the call that they hear to take care of those of us that live with developmental disabilities. So the real honor that is mine is being associated with these people.”
