Dr. Kevin L. Haglin Named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Physics Education

United States(prwindow)- August 22 2007 -Dr. Kevin L. Haglin, professor and department chairman for St. Cloud State University, has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Physics Education.
 
ST. CLOUD, MN, August 23, 2007 - Dr. Kevin L. Haglin, professor and department chairman for St. Cloud State University, has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Physics Education. While inclusion in Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only two male and two female members in each discipline are named the Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year. The Cambridge Who's Who selection committee chooses these special honorees based on their accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership and service.

Haglin has 17 years of experience in higher education, nine of which have been spent at the university. As a professor and department chairman at St. Cloud State University, he teaches physics courses on a variety of topics including nuclear theory, electromagnetic probes of high energy nuclear reactions, photon and dilepton production and nuclear fragmentation and correlation. In addition to teaching, Haglin attends international conferences, where he presents research papers, and has been published in more than fifty nuclear physics research journals. St. Cloud University is an institution of higher education offering undergraduate, graduate and pre-professional programs which give a strong liberal arts foundation with specialized career preparation. Between 1990 and 1993, Mr. Haglin was a research fellow at McGill University in Montreal. He received his bachelors degree in physics and mathematics at Hamline University, and in 1990, he received his doctorate in physics at the University of Minnesota. Haglin has also received awards highlighting his career achievements, including the Faculty Research Award from the College of Science and Engineering at St. Cloud State University in 2001 and the Robert M. Page Physics Award from Hamline University in 1984. He is also a lifetime member of the American Physical Society.
