Rockville, MD, June 06, 2008 -- Leading Federal contracts and Federal marketing solutions provider fedXccel is reporting that Federal agencies continue to increase spending IT security initiatives.

US Federal IT security spending has grown by 63% in the past five years and is projected to be $6.8 billion in 2009.
“Agencies are struggling to protect their technology infrastructure from increasingly sophisticated cyber attacks,” said Gaurav “GP” Pal, fedXccel Chief. “IT security now is nearly 10% of the overall Federal IT budget and Small businesses need to position themselves as solution providers rather than just presenting themselves as generic IT Systems Integrators or Network Engineering firms.”

fedXccel is hosting a Free webinar on June 11th, 2008 at 12 PM (Eastern) on Cybersecurity contract opportunities for Small businesses. Visit http://www.federalwebinars.com to register.

“Small businesses are uniquely positioned to help Agencies with nimble and cost-effective solutions that deliver results quickly – but they need to focus their efforts,” said “GP”. “Small businesses need to follow the money – Department of Commerce, Nuclear Regulatory Commission and National Science Foundation have significantly increased their IT security spend.”
