During the Manchester Commonwealth Games, the Sport England Lottery Fund donated 112 million pounds to develop new sporting facilities. Other examples of how this money is put to use include the restoration of the 609 ft. Yarmouth Pier, and a short film called Forgotten Souls made in Scotland and Poland about a Holocaust survivor unable to forget the past. The short film was exhibited at the 60th Cannes Film Festival.
