Virgin Wines has sold more Rose wine in the last 12 months than ever before, with like for like sales increasing by 458% compared to five years ago.
During the period January to May 2008, the company has sold almost 27,000 bottles of Rose, over twice the amount sold during the same period last year.
Virgin Wines’ current favourite Rose, Les Arbousiers Coteaux du Languedoc Cinsault Grenache Rose 2007, has received an average rating of 4.1 out of 5 stars from customers. Recent comments about the Rose include: “Amazingly refreshing! My Rose of the summer”, “Want more!” and “Easy to drink, a very good Rose”.
Rowan Gormley, Founder and CEO of Virgin Wines said: “We have seen sales of Rose increase significantly over the last five years. And whereas Rose sales used to peak in the summer months and again at Christmas, the evidence is that Rose is increasingly being enjoyed at all times throughout the year.”
